Well, what a day that was! It’s the 11th time we’ve hosted a CSR Day and I have to say, this was probably the most inspiring and thought-provoking one yet.

One of the big themes that emerged was the enormity and complexity of the sustainability challenge. Listening to our speakers and panellists, it’s clear that there can be many conflicting factors making it difficult to know how to do the right thing. But let’s not allow ourselves to feel overwhelmed: we cannot succumb to analysis-paralysis.

It’s a cliché I know, but every journey is made up of many small steps. Whatever stage your organisation is at in its sustainability journey, I hope our event renewed your focus, showed a new direction you might take, or perhaps gave you ideas to accelerate your progress.

Keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We’ll keep you updated on our ambitious single-use plastic reduction programme and our new ‘managed IT with a conscience’ strategy.

I’d like to say a final big thank you to our wonderful suppliers who joined us in the exhibition hall. Without their support, we’d never be able to host such a large event. Plus, a special thank you to our speakers Wayne Hemingway and Ed Gillespie, and our panellists MP Alex Chalk, Sky’s Anna Ma and Xerox’s Michele Cahn.

The depth and breadth of their experience and expertise truly enriched the event. It helped all of us realise the scope and scale of the sustainability challenge. But knowledge is power, and to paraphrase Ed, I feel confident that together we can be more purposeful, sustainable and creative: Imagine Better!
